Saxony's Minister President visits maxit!
Business talk: Michael Kretschmer as a guest at the Dresden site
On 23 July 2024, we had the great honour of welcoming the Prime Minister of Saxony, Mr Michael Kretschmer, to our factory in Dresden. Mr Kretschmer took part in a discussion with entrepreneurs and decision-makers from the construction industry and responded to questions and suggestions from the audience.
The construction industry is currently facing special challenges, which can certainly only be solved through cooperation between politics and business. Minister President Kretschmer emphasised to the panel that the wrong energy policy and excessively high building standards in Germany are causing construction prices to continue to rise. More homes are needed, but the number of building permits is at an all-time low. According to Kretschmer, Saxony is countering this with subsidy programmes for home ownership and social housing, but this crisis can only be overcome with more freedom and economic dynamism.
