Exterior rendering with clinker | "Jaminpark" Erlangen
Eye-catcher: repetition and variation
The façade of Jaminpark (residential complex 1) is a successful and emphasising component of an appealing open and green space concept. Residential complex 1 was designed as an open perimeter block development consisting of two L-shaped blocks and a point block - with a spacious inner courtyard with a park-like character in the centre. The otherwise uniform appearance is broken up by flaps that widen on different sides and contrast with the colour and texture of the façade. The clinker brick slips on the ground floor of the daycare centre create a very similar effect.
Render meets clinker brick slips
The ‘Jaminpark’ project is one of the largest residential construction projects in Erlangen. Around 650 new flats were built between Stintzing-, Nürnberger- and Paul-Gossen-Straße as part of the redesign and redensification of the residential neighbourhood. 420 flats were renovated to make them more energy efficient.
Three 5-storey residential buildings with a daycare centre and shared underground car park were built on the site 'residential complex 1' of Jaminpark - the existing buildings on the site had previously been demolished. An impressive 7,500 m2 of façade had to be plastered to give the new, solid construction buildings a uniform façade design. A further 800 m2 had to be covered with clinker brick.
maxit - Exterior render (with) system
An external render system from maxit was used on the façades of the three new buildings in accordance with the specifications.
The render was applied to highly insulating brickwork using maxit ip 190 SFL lime-cement fibre lightweight render, a mesh reinforcement with maxit multi 290 E and the mineral finishing render maxit color plus K (3 mm). Finally, a coloured paint system - using maxit solar paint - was applied.
A sample façade was to be installed in advance for the ground floor of House A, the part of the building with the clinker brick façade. This consisted of external rendered surfaces - with a special structure in accordance with the ‘maxit clinker brick façade on monolithic masonry’ information sheet - vertically applied GIMA brick slips in the colour Erbusco FK (490 x 15 x 40 mm and 490 x 35 x 40 mm alternately), architrave render and jointing plus the attachment of profiles.
