Old building, combined with new building
In the heart of the Upper Franconian market town of Kasendorf is the former ‘Schwarzes Ross’ inn, which is a listed building. This historic building, first mentioned in a document in 1530, has been repeatedly extended and remodelled over the last few centuries - as required for its use as a brewery, restaurant, dance hall, etc.
The task now was to modernise the historic building to energy, fire protection and sound insulation standards and to harmoniously integrate the planned new buildings into the overall picture.
Interior insulation, exterior insulation
A combination of internal and external insulation was used for the renovation work.
The cleaned walls of the old building were first prepared with a sprayed coat of maxit ip 12 or, on the wooden structures, with a plaster base (Stucanet), before further plastering work was carried out with maxit ip 76 therm. The interior walls were plastered with maxit ip 380 purcalc lime plaster. To ensure a stable and durable plaster layer, a reinforcement layer of maxit ip 315 purcalc thin-layer lime plaster was applied to the interior plaster surfaces. The finishing coat was applied using maxit ip 178 purcalc lime plaster smoothing compound.
For the façade renovation of the old building, the innovative maxit ecosphere system was used. After dowelling the plaster base (Distanet), the façade was coated with an approx. 4 - 5 cm thick layer of maxit eco 72 and primed with maxit prim eco 1170 after the drying phase. This was followed by the reinforcement layer with maxit eco 73 reinforcement filler.
The integration of the natural stone window sills proved to be a particular challenge: they were installed retrospectively due to the decision in favour of a second sealing level, which was made after intensive consideration.
maxit ip artista, applied, smoothed and felted, and two coats of maxit silicate paint A 7020 finally gave the façade back its original character: fresh and authentic at the same time.
